At Friday's meeting, we welcomed Dawson Burgess, a PhD student in Industrial Automation at the University of Idaho, for an engaging introduction to artificial intelligence and its growing role in our everyday lives.
Dawson shared practical tips for getting better results from tools like ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot, explained why AI sometimes "hallucinates" and gave us a look at how AI and robotics are being used to solve real-world challenges right here in North Idaho.
The biggest takeaway? AI is powerful, but the quality of the answer often depends on the quality of the question.

🎤😂 Yesterday afternoon, we celebrated and roasted our very own District Governor, Steve Roberge! 😂🎤
Friends, family and fellow Rotarians gathered for an afternoon filled with great stories and plenty of good-natured ribbing as we celebrated Steve Roberge's year leading District 5080.
The stories got a little taller, the jokes got a little better and Steve proved he can take a roast just as well as he leads a Rotary club.
Thanks to Rotarians from across the area - Rotary Club of Post Falls, Rotary Club of Sandpoint Idaho, Rotary Club of Coeur d'Alene Evening, Spokane Aurora Northwest Rotary, Rotary Club of Wallace, Christina Lake Rotary Club and Moscow Rotary Club - who joined us for the festivities.
